ISS Poles[ Next ]

Design attractive, adjustable and strong wall units, computer workstations, shelving and closets using ISS Compression Poles. The poles extend from floor to ceiling held in place with spring tension. No permanent attachment to the wall, floor or ceiling is required. Cabinets are attached to the sides of the poles using 1/4-20 machine screws. Shelves rest on the rear facing ISS Brackets with weight supported by the wall and the poles. The pole mounted system is designed for high load bearing capacity.

 Custom pole lengths are available in any length under 105".  For example, for a 7' ceiling, order a CP-084.  The actual pole length is always 3" shorter than the pole number.  ie. CP-095 has an actual pole length of 92".

 12" Compression Kit 

 

 Use on top of ISS Compression Pole.  Adds up to 4" of height to pole with spacers.  Provides all the necessary hardware for floor to ceiling compression pole mounting.  Kit includes hardware sleeve, spring, spacers, rubber pole foot, and pole cap.

 15" Compression Kit Used with 9' ISS Compression Pole to go up to 9'7" Height.  Works for 9'3" to 9'7" ceiling.  Provides all the necessary hardware for floor to ceiling compression pole mounting.  Kit includes hardware sleeve, spring, spacers, rubber pole foot, and pole cap. 

TP-010 10" Tie Pole Kit Attach using a tie pole when ceiling is sloping, drop ceiling or exceeds 12' height.  Tie pole mounting may also be preferred for design reasons.  The Tie Pole locks into the vertical pole on one end and attaches to the wall on the other end using L brackets. (Use your choice of mounting screw)  Kit includes pole section, L brackets, pole caps.

The ISS Compression Poles are made with extruded aluminum in a clear anodized finish.  There are access slots on the front and back pole channels to allow the ISS Brackets to enter the vertical channels.  You may then position the ISS Brackets at any point from the bottom to top of the pole.  The threaded sides of the poles are designed to attach cabinets directly into the pole.  

The stability of a pole mounted system is derived by the relationship of the poles with the floor and ceiling and having the weight resting against the wall.  Therefore, ISS Poles should be used primarily to support rear mounted loads resting against a wall.  Although notched work surfaces and shelves can be mounted forward of the poles, they should be offset with rear-facing loads 2:1.  For example, an 18" deep cabinet could be attached to the poles with screws at 12 3/4" from the back of the cabinet.
